SL Update / Strahan / Historical Society Brochure

I made a few "tweeks" to my brochure for my service learning client, the Narragansett Historical Society of Templeton. The big change was substituting vintage paper as the background for the two inside boxes and moving the clock face to the left for better balance. What do you think?

  1. Nice - the changes have settled this into a very successful layout!

  2. This is beautiful, Virginia! I wish I could see it folded! I doubt I could think of any suggestions for change.

  3. V - Just had an additional thought about this and you might have already considered this - but I want to make sure:

When placing that background clock face, you might want to consider the folds of the piece. So, when first opened (and the fold-in panel is still "folded in") the clock face is a complete circle. Now, as it is placed, we would see the clock face section being repeated as it sits on the left and the right panels.

It's up to you - but I wanted you to be aware of this. So - print it and fold it and really look at how the clock face sits was you unfold the piece.

If the clock faced is moved on the fold-in panel to "complete" the face when folded in, it will not appear on the back panel. Which, to my mind, is less important than getting the position right on the inside... but, this is up to you in the end. The position of this background image on the fold-in panel is important either way - whether it completes the image, or repeats it... it must be placed very carefully.

... but, you might have already attended to this, in which case... good!
