I agree with Virginia - and would also add that #1 shows a more "active" design with the ax interacting with your name versus the "passive" position of the ax in #3. Which is more closely related to your resume and business card design? For branding purposes it should be similar.
I guess I'm always the contrarian. I like the last one best. I'm not sure I'd want my name cut in half by the ax. : P Also, I think there is a better balance of size between the text and ax on the last one.
Hmmm. I like #1 the best; #3 is good. The axe looks too large to me in #2 for the size of the font.
