Project #4 --- Apple

Changes made:

In an attempt to make the poison apple appear less like chocolate, I gave the black drip a greenish glow and a spore like "smoke" effect. Also, I added cracks around the lips (not sure if necessary, let me know what you think). For the text I changed the headline from an all serif font to a san serif and serif combination with italics on the word "DECEIVING." As for the lower left hand corner, I changed "so can labels" from serif to sans, and reduced the opacity on the green bar to make the text more readable.

  1. I like the changes you made. The spore like smoke further emphasizes the poison and the tinge of green you added eliminates any idea of chocolate.

  2. Sam - over all this is very effective. My only suggestion it to find a way to emphasize the subheading at bottom "So can LABELS!" This is important because it's a follow up to the heading... and without it we don't completely understand the written message.

How can you make it more readable? One suggestion would be to enlarge it so it overlaps onto the hand and plays a more important part of the bottom area of the composition. Additionally you could consider styling the text with the font combination that is so successful at top.

To conserve room, consider using bold, but smaller, pt size type for the paragraph below this line. You should be able to pull up that short last line, making more room for the heading.

A few tweaks and this is done! Nice... disturbing... but effective visual.
